About Alpha Protector

Alpha Protector is a leading provider of security software solutions focused on defeating newly developed malware and crimeware trojans. These trojans are now responsible for the vast majority of financial fraud being perpetrated online.

Our technical team has deep experience in cybercrime law enforcement, and roots in the National Security Agency, USAF Intelligence and US Army Intelligence. We examine these trojans and understand how they operate. When we recognized how prolific the latest generation of trojans are; we looked at what other security companies were doing to address the threats these trojans pose. We couldn’t find anyone approaching the problem in an optimal way. The goal of these trojans is to collect credential information (usernames, passwords, credit card accounts and more) that users type into Web browsers – whether they are making an online purchase or doing online banking.

These trojans have become so sophisticated that detection is not a viable way to combat them. By definition, the vast majority of these trojans are undetected and undetectable, and they morph into unrecognized (zero day) signature patterns upon each successive installation. Even behavior-based detection technologies fall short in dealing with these trojans because the code itself acts in ways that are expected and not anomalous in any way.

So, what our team did was look at how these trojans perform the tasks they are designed to carry out, and we have discovered ways to stop them from operating as designed. Once AlphaProtector is installed on your system, criminals will not be able to collect your browser-entered data. As importantly, criminals will not be able to usurp your Web session through what are called “Man-in-the-browser” attacks. These attacks actually modify Web pages so you think you are accomplishing your intended task; however, they are using the information you provide to authenticate with your bank, for instance, and then changing what you set out to do. Instead of electronically transferring $500 to your friend Dan in California, they just transferred $10,000 into an overseas account held by their cohorts. Even though on your screen, your bank’s web site indicates that you transferred $500 to Dan.
At AlphaProtector, we have one solitary, focused mission - to stop criminals from getting your browser-entered data. We accomplish our mission extremely well - better than anyone else out there. If criminals can’t get your data, you won’t be a victim.
